Traveling strings is a record of my journey into guitar building, and I am not sure where it will all lead. I have a basic design theory for this little guitar. I would like it to be smaller than a Martin backpacker but with a bigger sound. I wan't to build it out of local woods.(eventually the neck too) I want the tunners to be out of the way so that the guitar won't get nocked out of tune. I wan't it to be full scale. Most of all I wan't it to be fun to play.
The first thing I did was to join the wood for the top and the back. Here you can see them with the bracing installed. The bracing on this set is a little beefy. I am getting a good tap tone but I think it could be better. On the next one I will try a different bracing pattern on the top and most likely make the braces thinner.

I made this drawing over 2 years ago. The size has changed a little but it's still the same basic Idea. I have enough wood to make 2 at the moment and I think I will make them each a little bit different . The top and bracing is made of Red cedar and the back and sides are made of yellow cedar. This is definitely an open blog and any tips or suggestion would be great.
